I have been a paramedic for 34 years, and these are the greatest thing I have ever seen!  If people I am trying to help wore these I would be able to start providing quality support more quickly.  Most people don't understand that we are not allowed to provide a lot of aid if we do not know what someone is, or is not, allergic too or what issues they have going on.  There are lives I could have saved if I just had access to this kind of information this quickly.

A couple of years ago, a disc in my spine was infected by a blood infection and I ended up needing to have surgery to repair the damage. I now have 4 rods and 8 screws that reinforce an eight inch fusion in my lower spine. I am no longer able to do many things and have limitations bending or twisting. Ever since, I have worried if I were ever in an accident to and no longer conscious, what would happen and how would I be dealt with by first responders. Having said that, I know they take a lot of precautions, but there are times that information is extremely important and helpful. Now as I wear MyAlertBand, if the responders see my band all they have to do is scan the QR code with their phone and they will have my information. Once scanned, they will see x-rays of my back, and will know other medical information, a list of my medications, a list of my Dr's, emergency contact #s, etc. You choose what information is put on the band. I truly have peace of mind knowing that there will be this information available to those taking care of me.

I can not thank you enough for this, I will never take this off.

I was at the hospital and they were so amazed by my band.  They didn't know anything like it existed.

My dad was at the doctor's and they asked for his list of medications.  He scanned his band and handed the information to the doctor showing all of his currents meds and doses.  They were so impressed and had never seen anything like it!

My husband and I have been wearers of My Alert Band for several months now and we love having that added layer of protection. Until recently we have only needed them to show to friends and they have come in handy at doctor appointments of which we have many between the two of us.

When you came out with your "pocket packs" I purchased two of them. I know you promoted them as being stand-alone devices for people who didn't want to wear a bracelet, but I thought of what I considered to be a better use. I linked one "pocket pack" to my existing band and one to my husband's and then I put one of his cards in my wallet and one of my cards in his.

Last week I had to call 911 because I believed my husband was having a coronary event as he had chest pains. The paramedics were able to quickly access my husband's information from his My Alert Band and took him to the local hospital. When we got there they took him in for testing. While he was undergoing his tests, hospital staff needed some information from me to speed along his admittance. Now I have to tell you, my husband takes 15 or more prescriptions, has a defibrillator, and is allergic to sulfa drugs, but there's no way I can keep all of that straight and his My Alert Band was on his wrist. Fortunately I had his "pocket pack" card in my wallet and I gave that to the admittance nurse who was able to scan it and get all of his information!

Fortunately my husband's issue was minor!!

I really believe you need to tell people the value of getting the "pocket packs" as a companion to their My Alert Band. This was an invaluable aid to me at a time when my mind was on my husband's well-being and not on his laundry list of medications.

Thank you for creating My Alert Band, it has made a difference!

sincerely,

A.R.
